Samoan Language Week
Samoan Language Week
Last week for Samoan Language week Team Tui was split into three groups. The group I selected was the Tapa and the Dance Group. I was in Room 11 with Mrs. Tupou Fonua.
Firstly we drew Samoan Designs on a piece of paper, we all drew four designs each. My 1st design took up most of my time. When I was done with my design Mrs. Tupou Fonua handed me a brown paper bag to paint my four designs on. My painting only took me two days (surprisingly). My painting turned out to be better than I expected.
After every Tapa cloth session we would clear out the classroom and begin to learn our dance. I learned the dance in less than two days so it was no problem. We all did the dance together and we nailed it. That was mainly my Samoan Language week routine. I learned a few Samoan Patterns.
I enjoyed doing this project but if I had an opportunity to do it again I would like to try something new to learn more about Samoa.

Samoan Language Week
For Samoan Language week I decided to do some Tapa Cloths. Here is a photo of me working on my Tapa Cloth.
The Team Tui Museum Trip
On Friday the 25th of May Team Tui went on a trip to the Auckland Museum Trip. My supervising teacher was Doreen (Mrs Fonua’s Niece). We had so much fun and learned so many different things.
Silverbeet Quiche
Today the garden to table team made Silverbeet Quiche on our own (with a teacher supervising of course). My 2 main jobs were chopping up the vegetables and Squeezing out the boiling water out of the Vegetables. Here are some photos.
