I did Ixl understanding Rational and Irrational numbers. In my opinion this was easier than I thought. I made sure that I read the questions and understood the answers. Rational numbers are numbers that you can write as fractions so then from that piece of information I was able to get my answers which majority of them were correct !
Maths W4
Today for maths, my maths group and I learnt about adding and subtracting fractions with related denominators. A tip Mrs Fonua gave was that the denominator must be the same before adding or subtracting. First we had to find the LCD (Least Common Denominator). Second we found multiples, for example 2/8 x3 6/24. Then we do the same thing for the next fraction. Lastly you add the numerators but keep your denominators the same!
Finding the Perimeter of our shape
Today we worked out the Perimeter of the shape my group had made. To meausure our shape we were being creative and used Harakeke (flax). The people in my group were Mokoia and Kymani. The shape was 34.5 centimeters and 345 millimeters. In my opinion I found this task really fun and I actually was able to understand. Here is our shape!
Understanding Cartesian Plane
For Maths today Mr Raj taught us (the seniors) what x-y axis is. I also learnt how to reflect in y-axis. Something that grabbed my attention was pretty much the reflection because I actually understood what I was supposed to do.
Maths
This morning, Mrs Fonua taught my maths group how to find the value of ‘x’ while using addition and subtraction. I really suprised myself with how well I was able to solve these equations. Within 30 minutes I understood a lot.
