Finding the Perimeter of our shape

Today we worked out the Perimeter of the shape my group had made. To meausure our shape we were being creative and used Harakeke (flax). The people in my group were Mokoia and Kymani. The shape was 34.5 centimeters and 345 millimeters. In my opinion I found this task really fun and I actually was able to understand. Here is our shape!

Cybersmart W5 T3

Today is Friday of week 4 but since I have already done the Cybersmart task for this week I did the cybersmart for Week 5. For this task we had to learn how to do a positive blog reply. The comment had to involve a greeting and tell them how much you appreciate their comment. Then we had to answer any questions they have asked. Lastly we had to ask them a question about their thoughtful comment. Here is my slide!

Team Tui Assembly Cook Island Language Week

This Morning it was Team Tui’s assembly. This week was Cook Island language week so our Assembly was based off Cook Island language week and Matariki. I was able to read a line in assembly and I was reading the Whakatauki or the theme for the year. Connect me to the traditions and culture of my homeland. Which means to me that we should all embrace our culture and be proud of who we are. We also did a dance. There were 7 girls performing a Cook Island dance with some Cook Island music. I found this really fun because I got to learn some new moves.

Matariki Art

For Art Room 11 here at Glen Taylor School decided to do some abstract Matariki art. We had to choose 3 stars and create a picture representing that star. The stars I have chosen were Pohutukawa which represents remembering those who have passed. Waiti & Waita meaning the Ocean. Lastly Tupu-a-rangi representing food from the forest. Check out my Art!

Working Collaboratively in A Doc

In this task we are learning to work inside a Google Doc collaboratively with another person. It is important to be respectful when working simultaneously inside a single Google Doc.

You’ll need to buddy up with a partner and make sure one of you has made a copy, and shared it with the other buddy.

The password is…

This morning the Seniors here at Glen Taylor school had some fun playing “the password is” which is pretty much another way of saying guess the password. The objective of the game was that on the screen behind us was a word and the students sitting on the chair had to guess the word while the other students behind them were giving them clues. The clue had to be one word. I really find this game fun because it helps us students think of descriptive words on the spot. Here is a picture of my friends and I playing.
