For our cybersmart tasks we had to find the meaning and who made these different medias. The 2 we had to figure out were the Mcdonald’s Monopoly and Waka Kotahi Advertisement. Then we had to pick a media of our choice and do the same thing. I picked Netflix. Check out my work.
Team Tui Probability Learning
This morning Team Tui gathered to the hall and did some Math, but in a fun way. First we played a game called Blocko where we had 11 blocks. Then we had a paper which was numbered 2-12. Then we spread 11 blocks around the paper. After, Mr Herlihy rolled a dice and it would land on a number. He would add the numbers and whatever number it added upto that is the number we would take off that number on the paper. Honestly Blocko was my favorite part. I reccomend playing blocko because it is a fun way for maths.

Fun Friyay Tasks W9 T3
Last Friday Team Tui did a Fun Friyay Task. Here in the slides is my piece of work. The task that took me the longest and that I found difficult was the riddles, it took me almost an hour. The challenge I found the easiest was the “who said it” because google helped me a lot. The task that I enjoyed the most was the crack the code because it really excercised my brain power. Check out the results of my work!
Matariki Festival 2023
On Thursday the 14th of September Glen Taylor School had a Matariki Festival. I was in the Kapa Haka group and we performed before heading to our stations. We had different activites and my activities were PlayDough and Word Search. I found the station pretty easy because we just had to tell the customers the instructions. I decided to try out some scavenger hunts and they were really fun. One thing I would change was probably me actually trying harder to decorate my station. Something I hope to do better next time is to try and get more customers.
Stardome Trip
On Thursday the 7th of September Team Tui took a trip to Stardome to learn about Matariki. There was a worker named John who took us into a room and taught us where the stars are located. Then we had a scavenger hunt where we had to find information and type it into the ipad that was given to us. Then we watched a movie explaining a better story of the stars. I learnt that you cannot see Matariki in may bacause the sun is covering it. Here are some photos of our trip!
Tongan Language Week 2023
For Tongan Language week Glen Taylor School wanted to bring the happieness and the hype up. We had 3 events, a fashion show, a song from Team Tui (the seniors) and lastly a Tau’olunga (Traditional Tongan Dance). I was apart of the Tongan Dance & the Tongan song. I was a lead singer along with Ahasi, Uheina and Angellynah. Finding out I was a lead was terrifying but I was also kinda proud. The dance made me feel like a proud Tongan. I felt really happy and proud by the end of the day!
